The Sounds of Scorpio Season
What is there to say about Scorpio? I think that part of the reason I have trouble understanding Scorpio is because of the utter lack of water in my own chart, despite being part of the “Pluto in Scorpio” generation as Lorde says. But it’s also because they’re not out here trying all that hard to be understood.
Intense, loyal, passionate, powerful—all of these things are true of Scorpios, but how much of that they let you see is entirely up to them. Scorpio is a fixed water sign, ruled by Mars in traditional astrology and Pluto in modern astrology. (Basically, once we invented telescopes and could see planets that were previously invisible to the naked eye, a few signs got new, dual rulers.)
Pluto here isn’t exactly like Hades from the Disney animated classic Hercules, either—although he’s a super fun character voiced by a terrible person. This is the Pluto/Hades of classical Greek and Roman mythology, King of the Dead and ruler of the secret places beneath the earth.
Because they are so concerned with depth, power and transformation, Scorpios have no patience for fluff, fakery or bullshit. You will always know exactly where you stand with a Scorpio, which can be amazing or terrifying depending on how they feel about you.
And yes, when talking about Scorpio, we have to acknowledge the sex of it all. Look, their associated body part is literally the genitals. Sex, death, transformation, other people’s money—very lighthearted subjects that all fall under Scorpio’s purview!
